Evening Families- Attached below is the link to be used in case students need additional supports for logging into classrooms. Most teachers have already been communicating with students via Schoology. We have added this link to ensure all students understand how to get into classrooms in order to participate in the classroom and instruction being provided. After this week, each teacher will communicate with students through the virtual tools. Can’t wait to see our Senators tomorrow! Dear RMS Families- Due to increased enrollment & the need to continue practicing physical distance it is necessary that we make adjustments to student’s schedules. This process has begun and the majority of adjustments should be complete by the end of the week (September 4, 2020). Please be patient with us with the understanding that we are doing everything humanly possible to navigate these adjustments as efficiently & effectively as possible. Please note that the counseling department is not making and cannot make any additional schedule changes until this process has been completed. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We appreciate your valued support during this transition. Sincerely, RMS Team
PCSSD will be open for regular business hours tomorrow (Friday, Aug. 28). Schools will operate on their normal Friday schedule (which includes blended Group B students). Extended care and athletic activities will resume tomorrow as well. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

Therefore, PCSSD will dismiss school early on Thursday, August 27. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30am and Secondary schools will dismiss at 1:00pm. Dismissal times are for both car and bus riders. District offices will dismiss at 1pm as well. There will be no district athletics events on Thursday, August 27. No decision has been made about school or athletic activities for Friday at this time.
SCHOOLOGY UPDATE: Rachel Blackwell, Digital Learning Facilitator for PCSSD, offers another walk through of what Schoology looks like for students, starting with the log-in process to the student portal. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence http://ow.ly/J3U850B8ZV1
Student Arrival For RMS Students- Parents students are not to be dropped off prior to 8:15am. It is a safety concern if these procedures are not followed every morning. Thank you for your understanding. Staff will be ready to assist all students at 8:15am. RMS Admin Team
Ellie Miller, a parent of 6 children wrote this poem earlier this month for @thrive. Mrs. Miller states in the article that, regardless of options, there isn’t a parent who won’t relate to the words of this poem. http://ow.ly/Issp50B6w5T #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence
Please Click Link: https://www.smore.com/1pzxc Dear RMS Parents & Students, I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. A few reminders going into this week. Please make sure students are not dropped off before 8:15am. Staff will not be available to supervise students and ensure appropriate physical distance if students are dropped off early. Parents who drop students off before the 8:15am time will receive a call from administration. This is important as we work to create a safe environment for students. We were hopeful that the Schoology Platform would be stable and ready for teachers as well as students on the first day of school. However, Schoology is not as stable as we hoped but the district is working in partnership with Schoology to correct all errors. We expect that it will be a stable platform by the end of the week. In the meantime, we have developed a workaround to support communication in regards to how to access school assignments and google classroom meets. Please see the attached link and follow these simple instructions for the week. Instructions (Click This Link): Look carefully at your schedule. Click on your teacher's name at the time of the class period. Find your class period to join the class. Reminder Correction: Please remember that we need to create a safe environment for all stakeholders, to support with this process, outside food will not be allowed to be dropped off for students. If a student forgets their lunch, they can receive a free school lunch this year. Car rider students will receive a car rider number on the first day. That will need to be displayed in your passenger side dashboard to the pick up line to run quickly and smoothly while maintaining social distancing. Please Do Not park in the parking to pick up students. Parents are asked to minimize in person contact with the office as much as possible. We will do our very best to take care of all matters by phone.

Dear Band Families, In preparation for instrument inspection and inventory, PCSSD has scheduled district-owned instruments to be returned to the school buildings on Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5. Both high school and middle school students will return their district-owned instrument to Robinson Middle School. I will be at RMS to collect instruments between 9:00am - 3:00pm. Let me know if your family requires an alternative time. We will be practicing social distancing and safety measures during instrument return. Instrument inspection is crucial because this is how we determine what repairs need to be made in order to keep your child's district-owned instrument in good playing condition. If you were unable to pick-up your child's personally owned instrument on April 13, you may do so during this time. Thank you!
RMS Families, Please remind your child to fill out the survey placed in Senator Scroll. This survey will help us better prepare for Locker Pick Up Days. Why Attendance is Important in Helping Every Student Succeed? One of the most important things your child can do to reach the goal of success is also one of the most basic: attend school every day on time! By attending class regularly, your child is more likely to keep up with daily lessons and assignments and take quizzes and tests on time. Research has shown that your child's regular attendance may be the greatest factor influencing his/her academic success. Achievement: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to pass reading and math assessments than students who do not. Opportunity: For older students, being in school every day gives them a chance to learn more about college and scholarship opportunities and to learn the important information to build a successful academic record. Exposure to the English language: Regular school attendance can also help students who are learning English by giving them the opportunity to master the skills and information they need more quickly and accurately. Being part of the school community: Just by being present at school, your child is learning how to be a good citizen by participating in the school community, learning valuable social skills, and developing a broader world view. What parents can do: Follow the school's guidelines and attendance policy and report excused absences immediately. Reviews the school's rules and make sure you understand who you need to contact if your child is going to be absent. Take an active role. Stay involved with your child's daily experiences at school by asking how the school day went, and then listening carefully to what your child shares with you — both the successes and struggles. Make it a point to meet your child's teacher(s) and friends. Keep updated on school events and announcements. Read the school documents that your child brings home and Try to limit the amount of time that your child misses school due to medical appointments or illness. If possible, avoid scheduling doctor's appointments during the school day. Allow your child to stay home only in the case of contagious or severe illnesses. Schedule family events with your child's school schedule in mind. Plan holiday celebrations or family trips during weekends or school vacations. In the case of family emergencies or unexpected trips, talk to your child's teacher(s) as far in advance as possible and set up a way that your child can work ahead or bring important homework on the trip.
