One of our very own teachers, Stephanie Varner, had the opportunity to appear on The Vine (THV11) on Friday, March 1 as part of a reading segment. Mrs. Varner joined some very special guests who are responsible for the book "Ella the Banker."
10-year-old, Liam Sprinkle, and his mother, Shamim Okolloh wrote a children's book to encourage young girls to pursue a career in banking. Liam's sister, Ella, is the subject of his book. His inspiration came from his mom, sister and the book, "Harry Potter."
Mrs. Varner attended the segment to talk about Read Across America Week. While reading all books are important, this book in particular highlights the partnership between Baker Elementary and Economics Arkansas.
