The Pulaski County Special School District Board of Education approved an $11 million construction project for College Station Elementary.
With construction starting this month, the on-site storm shelter that had often been used by local residents during heavy thunderstorms or tornadic activity will not be available. The site will not be safe for the public during construction.

“During the construction of the new College Station Elementary, our local residents will not have access to the Storm Shelter as they have in times past. We know the community has depended on this building, but while construction is happening, the site will not be safe for the public,” said PCSSD Superintendent Jeff Senn.
Construction for College Station is expected to be completed by April 2027.
