Our AVID classes had a blast collaborating to build the tallest structures and strategizing for quick relay challenges.

How cool is this?! Scholars in the Multidisciplinary Pathway attended a Business & Industry Tour at Crystal Bridges. They participated in a career-themed tour and workshop, placing students into teams to curate exhibits. Check out their work!

Congratulations to the Pride of the Hillside! The SHHS Band attended the Devil Dog Classic in Morrilton this past weekend. Band & Color Guard: Excellent Ratings; Percussion: Superior Ratings; Band 3rd place in class

Students from across PCSSD high schools are beginning to pour into the 2025 College, Career & Transition Fair. It allows juniors and seniors to gather information on prospective colleges, universities, military opportunities, financial aid and learn more about the resources available for students with disabilities.

📸 Art meets emotion!
Mr. Green’s AP Art 2-D Design students explored how photography can capture human feelings.

Classmates posed to express seven different emotions — anger, contempt, disgust, enjoyment, fear, sadness, and surprise — while photographers focused on setting, lighting, and mood to bring each one to life.

Such a powerful way to combine creativity and technique! 🎨

🔬 Science in action!
Mrs. Benham’s students are asking questions, building hypotheses, and putting their ideas to the test in the lab. 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

📊 Celebrating ATLAS Success!
Last year’s scores showed incredible growth at SHHS — and two of our Bears went above and beyond! 🐻👏

🎉 Congrats to Mark Dunn (Academy of Engineering) and Jensen Sorenson (Business Academy) for earning Excelling scores on all three exams — 10th Grade English, Geometry, and Biology!

Ms. Johnson and Coach Cagle's students showed off their skills by demonstrating angles formed by transversals. Awesome work, Bears! 🐻👏

📊 ATLAS Interim Testing is almost here! (October 13 - October 17th)
Last year, SHHS challenged Maumelle High during Summative testing — and the results are in! 🐻👏 Maumelle’s own Principal Farr had a blast stepping in as the Bear Mascot after the challenge.

🎉🏆✨ We are so proud of Ava, Kenyon, Landon, and Jamarion for earning 2nd place in the 2025 Better Business Bureau Arkansas (BBB) Video Contest! Last week, Landon Toney and Jamarion Larry were recognized at the BBB Torch Awards Luncheon for this outstanding achievement. 🍽️🎖️

🎬👏 Their creativity and teamwork won $1,500 for our school along with a $150 gift card for each team member. The prize money went directly back into Bear Necessities —the Small Business Enterprise students proudly run as part of their curriculum. 💵🐻🛍️
